Full Name & Product Positioning

Product Full Name: 3M K1 Low-Density Hollow Borosilicate Glass Microspheres

This is a low-density hollow glass microsphere grade, focused on lightweight filling effects. It is suitable for ambient-temperature systems with low shear, low pressure, and low processing stress. It can be used for filling modification of lightweight putties, buoyancy materials, and light-duty coatings.

Core Technical Parameters

· True Density: 0.12 g/cm³

· Compressive Strength: 250 psi

· Physical Form: White ultra-fine fluffy powder

· Standard Packaging: 95 kg/drum

· Material: Hollow borosilicate glass

· Core Characteristics: Lightweight, thermal insulation, shrinkage reduction, low oil absorption

Key Advantages

· Low density helps reduce the overall weight of finished products.

· Fine and uniform powder results in relatively smooth product surfaces after filling, reducing particle defects.

· Can reduce the shrinkage rate of coating and putty systems, helping to improve cracking and deformation of finished products.

· Good thermal insulation and electrical insulation performance, can improve the thermal insulation effect of coatings and profiles.

· Good chemical stability, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, suitable for most ambient-temperature low-shear systems.

Main Application Areas

Core Applications: Lightweight construction putties, low-density coatings, civilian buoyancy filling materials

Suitable Areas: Light-duty sealants, thermal insulation coatings, lightweight modification of craft products

Prohibited Scenarios: High-shear processing such as injection molding/extrusion, high-pressure molding systems, food-contact products, high-load industrial structural parts
