Full name and product positioning

Product full name: Wacker VINNOL® H 30/48 M carboxyl-containing vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate terpolymer resin (VC/VAc resin)

Wacker VINNOL® H 30/48 M is a carboxyl-containing vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-dicarboxylic acid terpolymer (approx. 70 wt% vinyl chloride, approx. 29 wt% vinyl acetate, approx. 1 wt% dicarboxylic acid) produced by suspension polymerization. It offers good metal adhesion and can be crosslinked with isocyanates and similar curing agents. With a high vinyl acetate content and good ester solubility, it is a common binder for metal anti-corrosion and heat-seal coatings.

Core advantages

· Contains approx. 1 wt% carboxyl functional groups, giving good adhesion to metal, mineral and glass substrates

· High vinyl acetate content provides good solubility in pure ester solvents, enabling ketone-free processing

· Films are flexible and durable, abrasion-resistant, with good water resistance and chemical resistance, and resist aliphatic hydrocarbon media

· Can be crosslinked with isocyanates and similar curing agents, helping to improve chemical resistance and surface hardness

· In heat-seal coatings it can help lower the heat-seal temperature while balancing heat-seal strength and flexibility

Main application areas

· Core applications: metal anti-corrosion coatings, coil coatings, can coatings, automotive coatings, heat-seal coatings

· Suitable areas: metal adhesives, marine coatings, road-marking / floor coatings, crosslinking component of reactive coatings, pigment preparation

· Not recommended: systems sensitive to free acid value or requiring long-term contact with strongly alkaline media; for direct waterborne dispersion, emulsion-type products should be selected instead; small-scale trials before use are recommended
