Product full name: Wacker VINNOL® H 11/59 vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (commonly known as VC/VAc resin)

VINNOL® H 11/59 is a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate binary copolymer produced by Wacker (Germany) using suspension polymerization. It contains approx. 89 wt% vinyl chloride and approx. 11 wt% vinyl acetate with a K value of approx. 59, making it one of the higher-molecular-weight, higher-solution-viscosity grades in the VINNOL H series. Films offer good mechanical strength, softening range and chemical resistance. It is commonly used in protective coatings, strippable lacquers and adhesive systems that require high coating toughness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance, and can also be used in two-component systems.

Core advantages

· Higher K value and higher molecular weight give films good mechanical strength, abrasion resistance and softening range, suitable for applications requiring high coating strength

· High vinyl chloride and low vinyl acetate content give films good resistance to water, oil, dilute acids and alkalis and salt water

· Can be used as a physically drying one-component binder and is also commonly used in two-pack systems, making it easy to combine with crosslinking components

· Compatible with other VINNOL® series resins, most acrylic resins, ketone resins and some epoxy resins, leaving wide scope for formulation adjustment

· Good compatibility with pigments and fillers; with suitable stabilizers it can be used in protective coatings, strippable lacquers and adhesives

Main application areas

· Core applications: strippable protective lacquers, industrial and architectural protective coatings, paper and film coatings, printing inks, adhesives, two-component coating binders

· Suitable areas: anti-corrosion primer and intermediate coats for marine and steel structures, strippable temporary protective coatings, high-toughness inks and adhesives, industrial coatings requiring high chemical resistance

· Not recommended: direct blending with alkyd resins, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl butyral (generally incompatible); avoid pigments containing zinc, cadmium and iron oxides (they may catalyze decomposition of VC copolymers at high temperature); avoid direct contact with iron containers to prevent discoloration; systems without heat / UV stabilizers are not recommended for long-term outdoor exposure or high-temperature processing
