This grade is a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate binary copolymer resin produced by Wacker using suspension polymerization, with a K value of 34–36, making it a low-molecular-weight, low-viscosity grade. It contains no carboxyl functional groups and adheres well to porous substrates such as paper and wood. The suspension process gives lower surface free energy. It is mainly used in solvent-based primers, gravure inks and barrier coating formulations.

Core advantages

· Low-molecular-weight, low-viscosity grade with fast dissolution; at the same solids content the application viscosity is lower, helping to increase coating solids

· Suspension process gives lower surface free energy and a larger water contact angle, helping improve the hydrophobic performance of coatings

· Good adhesion to porous, absorbent substrates such as paper and wood; suitable as a primer or sealer binder

· Good resistance to oils, greases, dilute acids and alkalis and alcohol media, improving coating chemical resistance

· Fully compatible with other VINNOL® series resins, making it easy to adjust viscosity and flexibility by blending

Main application areas

· Core applications: solvent-based primers, gravure printing inks, barrier coatings, paper / wood sealer primers

· Suitable areas: inkjet printing coatings, anti-corrosion primer coats, film lamination coatings, strippable coatings, hot-stamping foil coatings

· Not recommended: applications requiring high adhesion to metal substrates when used alone (must be combined with carboxyl-containing M grades); long-term outdoor exposure systems without stabilizers; direct dispersion in waterborne systems
