Product full name: Wacker VINNOL® H 15/42 vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (commonly known as VC/VAc resin)

VINNOL® H 15/42 is a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate binary copolymer produced by Wacker (Germany) using suspension polymerization. It contains approx. 86 wt% vinyl chloride and approx. 14 wt% vinyl acetate with a K value of approx. 42, making it a medium-low viscosity grade that dissolves easily and levels well. It is used mainly as a binder for solvent-based coatings, printing inks and heat-seal coatings, and suits formulations that require lower solution viscosity, fast dissolution and good leveling.

· Low K value and low solution viscosity help formulate high-solids, low-viscosity, easy-leveling ink and coating systems

· Good solubility in ketone / ester solvents and fast dissolution make it suitable for high-speed printing processes such as gravure and flexographic printing

· Tough films with good permanent flexibility, abrasion resistance, water resistance, oil resistance and resistance to dilute acids and alkalis and salt water

· Compatible with other VINNOL® series resins, most acrylic resins, ketone resins and some epoxy resins, which facilitates formulation adjustment

· Complies with FDA food-contact requirements, so it can be used in compliant food-packaging inks and coatings

Main application areas

· Core applications: gravure printing inks, heat-seal coatings, paper and film coatings, strippable protective lacquers, marine and industrial protective coatings, inkjet and transfer inks, industrial wood coatings

· Suitable areas: printing inks for plastic films (PET, PVC, OPP, etc.), heat-seal coatings for aluminum foil / paper, low-viscosity high-solids coatings, tinplate and metal primers

· Not recommended: direct blending with alkyd resins, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl butyral (generally incompatible); avoid pigments containing zinc, cadmium and iron oxides; avoid direct contact with iron containers; systems without added stabilizers are not recommended for long-term outdoor exposure or high-temperature processing
