The problem
The customer was buying pigment black from several traders. Tinting strength and undertone varied enough that press-side adjustments were needed, and ink rejects were rising.
What we proposed
We moved them to a single Cabot grade held in our warehouse with lot-level retention samples, and supplied COA data for tinting strength and surface area on every delivery.
Result
- Batch-to-batch press adjustments dropped to near zero.
- Retention samples made quality disputes traceable within one working day.
- The customer consolidated three suppliers into one grade.
