Replacing a discontinued epoxy primer grade for a Vietnamese coatings producer

The problem
The customer's solvent-based anti-corrosion primer was formulated on a low-molecular solid epoxy resin that the original supplier had discontinued. Reformulation risk was high because the primer was already qualified against a shipyard specification.
What we proposed
We supplied samples of two equivalent EEW grades plus a solvent-cut (xylene) version for their liquid paint line. Both were tested against the existing primer for adhesion, salt spray and cure speed.
Result
- Production continued without a line stop during the transition.
- Salt spray performance matched the qualified specification.
- First order shipped FCL from Guangzhou within 12 working days.
