Product description and parameters
Full name and product positioning
Product full name: Wacker VINNOL® H 40/50 vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (VC/VAc resin)
Wacker VINNOL® H 40/50 is a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer with a high vinyl acetate content (approx. 63 wt% vinyl chloride, approx. 37 wt% vinyl acetate), produced by suspension polymerization. With good flexibility and solubility it can lower the heat-seal activation temperature and is suitable for processing in ketone-free solvent systems, making it a common binder for heat-seal coatings, printing inks and wood lacquers.

Core advantages
· High vinyl acetate content gives films greater flexibility and a lower softening temperature
· Can be processed in ketone-free solvent systems, helping to optimize solvent selection and reduce odor
· In heat-seal coatings it can help lower the heat-seal activation temperature with consistent heat-seal strength
· Films are tough and abrasion-resistant with good water resistance and chemical resistance, and resist aliphatic hydrocarbon media
· Good compatibility with ester-soluble nitrocellulose and other resins, which facilitates modification and blending
Main application areas
· Core applications: heat-seal coatings, printing inks (gravure / screen / transfer), wood lacquers, paper and film coating
· Suitable areas: strippable coatings, masonry / road-marking coatings, anti-corrosion and marine coatings, artificial leather coatings, plasticized PVC adhesives
· Not recommended: systems requiring high hydroxyl crosslinking or strong metal adhesion (M grades with carboxyl groups or A series with hydroxyl are recommended); for main coatings exposed to long-term outdoor weathering at high temperature, blending validation is recommended
