Wacker VINNOL® H 40/50 is a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer with a high vinyl acetate content (approx. 63 wt% vinyl chloride, approx. 37 wt% vinyl acetate), produced by suspension polymerization. With good flexibility and solubility it can lower the heat-seal activation temperature and is suitable for processing in ketone-free solvent systems, making it a common binder for heat-seal coatings, printing inks and wood lacquers.

Main application areas

· Core applications: heat-seal coatings, printing inks (gravure / screen / transfer), wood lacquers, paper and film coating

· Suitable areas: strippable coatings, masonry / road-marking coatings, anti-corrosion and marine coatings, artificial leather coatings, plasticized PVC adhesives

· Not recommended: systems requiring high hydroxyl crosslinking or strong metal adhesion (M grades with carboxyl groups or A series with hydroxyl are recommended); for main coatings exposed to long-term outdoor weathering at high temperature, blending validation is recommended
