Wacker VINNOL® P 38 C is a binary copolymer resin of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate (approx. 61 wt% vinyl chloride, 39 wt% vinyl acetate). It is a general-purpose solvent-based binder, used mainly as the binder for surface coatings and printing inks, and can also serve as a modifier for rigid, semi-rigid and flexible PVC. It forms tough films with good chemical resistance and is suitable for industrial protective and corrosion-resistant coating systems.

Core advantages

· Good chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and aliphatic hydrocarbon media

· High vinyl acetate content gives good solubility in ketone and ester solvents

· Good compatibility with plasticizers, stabilizers and fillers, which facilitates formulation design

· Relatively stable particle size distribution, which helps uniform melting and film formation

· Can be used in PVC modification as well as in protective coatings, adhesives and many other systems

Main application areas

· Core applications: industrial protective coatings, corrosion-resistant linings for chemical storage tanks and pipes, solvent-based adhesive binders, printing inks

· Suitable areas: modifiers for rigid / semi-rigid / flexible PVC, sealants and caulking compounds, abrasion- and solvent-resistant inks for flexible packaging

· Not recommended: applications requiring a food-contact compliance commitment (subject to Wacker's official regulatory documents); not suitable for direct dispersion in waterborne systems
